I bought a house from a guy who cut corners everywhere. It appears that he threw up the tile and called it good enough. You can see on the one side where it's still the full 3/8 or whatever depth of mortar lines for laying tile. And along the whole length I see fiber tape from the joint between sheet rock and drywall above. AlbumHow do I go about fixing this? Is there a way to remove all that crap without knocking a tile off the wall? Or maybe I just use a hugely wide trim piece along the edge of it (like 4" wide), and hollow out the backside so it doesn't matter that there's a bunch of mortar? I suppose it could even add more and just blend it all in with the wall? Idk. kinda at a loss here. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2sNqc78
