So i'm trying to make a chalkboard at my business that will be used with chalkboard markers instead of regular chalk. I've used paint on chalkboard before and I think it looks like crap after a while, so i'm thinking of painting the wall black, then applying some kind of hard drying clear coat that will essentially make a glass-like surface (i've considered just getting plexiglass sheets to put over but I want the board rather big..5'x8' or so, and it gets pretty expensive). Anything you guys think would work for this? I could potentially get a very thin sheet of ply instead so I could apply it in a horizontal position instead of vertical and then screw the chalkboard to the wall - maybe just a very hard glossy poly over black paint? thanks! via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2rwMLub
