NextDoor has really taken off where I live. In the last 6 months really. We have over 15,000 people signed up in my area. It only allows verified residents to be members. I've recently sold some items and so many people sell for cheap or just give away items.

It's so much better than eBay, Craigslist or thrift store searching.

Some examples:

Sold old Adirondack chairs and a lacrosse goal. These were bulky and required someone coming to my house for pickup. I would have never allowed a complete stranger from Craigslist at my house, but I was much more comfortable allowing a verified user with a name and address come over. Certainly there is still a risk, crazies are everywhere, but it is a lessor risk.

Free items - furniture, grills, shoes, clothes, etc

I've posted ISO (in search of) for a few items and was given them free!

I haven't seen much discussion on this subreddit about NextDoor, so thought I'd post. I highly recommend you check to see if it's being used in your area.
