Hey everyone. I'm new to this sub and I would be very appreciative if you guys could give me any advice at all.
I have never invested before. I want to start because, honestly, I want to have money when I'm older and I want to be able to get the things that I really want and provide anything my future family needs. I have started to read books on money but I haven't finished anything yet because I just started yesterday. I'm first reading "Rich Dad Poor Dad" and next I plan on reading "The intelligent Investor" and "Midas Touch".
I have a little over $1,000. I'm in college too, my first year. I have a summer job/internship right now that pays pretty well and I've got until the end of August to continue to accumulate money. I plan on getting a job at school as well. I am really passionate about the company Tesla. I like their goal and I like their cars, a lot. I've been strongly considering buying a share or two of the company. I have been watching their stock for about two months and to me it seems like it would be promising to invest now before the share price gets even higher. I am Pretty sure that Tesla is considered a risky stock so would it be worth it for me? Should I just go with something else? Do I even have enough to start?
TLDR: I've never invested before. Is $1000 enough to start? Where do I start?
