Hey PF Fam,

My SO and I both work full time. We have a child. I'm on my work's high-deductible insurance plan and my SO and our child is on my SO's high deductible insurance plan.

Given that info, how much can we each contribute to our HSA's yearly?

Google tells me the yearly max is...

Family: $6,750

Individual: $3,400

Since I'm an individual can I contribute the individual max of $3,400 while my SO and child contribute the family max of $6,750? Or is this skirting the rules? I just want to get it right and not be penalized come tax time.

To recap, between the two of us (each with our own HSAs) can we contribute a combined $3,400+$6,750=$10,150? Or can we only contribute a max of $6,700 between the two of us?

Thanks for the input!
