I moved to south Mississippi last September and it is HOT. My electric bill when I first moved in to my two-story condo was $70 bucks. It's now wavering between $65-$95 since then and I cannot understand the reason why. I live alone, set my thermostat up when I'm not here, turn off all lights and fans and rarely use appliances. I keep a lamp on when I'm home and a ceiling fan. I keep my AC running at 74-75 in the evening. Maybe do 2 loads of laundry a week. I am rarely ever home on the weekends either.
I'm just confused by the difference in bills and what is causing this if my energy usage is pretty much the same. How can I cut this down? While we're here I'm having the same issue with my water bill. Any suggestions are welcome.
