Hello,
So I know this question comes up from time to time, but unfortunately the answers to others don't fit with how I use a shaver - so I was wondering if people had some advice for me!
I am basically looking for a trimmer that will do body and face hair with an adjustable comb.
I currently have a Babyliss i-trim which has an adjustable comb from 0.5-5mm. I find that this length is a bit short and limits what I do with my beard. Also - although the head seems to flex well, and the folding back comb design when you want to do edges is a nice bit of design, I seem to need to do a LOT of passes to get an even shave without straggly hairs left behind.
Add to the above that the battery isn't what it used to be and I'm looking for something better.
I have had shavers with multiple combs before and I just end up losing them, I dont have a big bathroom with much storage so any combs I dont regularly use get relegated to Narnia never to be seen again. I basically am after a single unit I can leave in the bathroom or put in my washbag and not worry about which combs need to accompany it.
I dont need a shaver - just a trimmer. I wet shave my face with a DE and electric shavers just dont seem to get close enough for me to bother.
I really dont want to end up with a separate shave for my body and face. I would rather struggle by with a face shaver which is adequate for the body like the Babyliss I have at the mo.
Shaving the nether regions means I would like something that doesn't easily get loose skin between the combs, something traditional face shavers are guilty of. The i-trim I have is actually quite good for this, with very few accidental nicks.
I had recently been eyeing up the Philips Oneblade Pro - it seemed to tick a lot of boxes but I am very put off about being locked into buying expensive disposable blades - and it doesnt really seem to be suitable for the body anyway.
The Philips bodygroom doesn't seem to be suitable for the face, although looks to be ideal for everywhere else, but as above I really don't want to end up with 2 shavers if I can possibly help it.
Lastly - spalsh/waterproof would be nice, it is in the bathroom after all.
Anyway - I think that covers my laundry list of hopes and desires. Anyone got any suggestions?
Edit: This is the best answer I have come up with so far: http://ift.tt/2t2dORC
Put off by potentially weak plastic in removable parts and gimmicky beard vacuum - however it's on offer at the moment at £40 making it cheaper than it's non-vacuum equivalent. I can probably deal with 2 heads.
edit2: Actually the same price as it's traditionally cheaper sibling - however the non-vacuum version is also 100% waterproof, so thats actually a big plus. Less range of adjustment tho. - anyone used one of these Philipas shavers on body hair? http://ift.tt/2tC5Qfc
