I think I may be in one. I'm in "management". I'm in charge of 5 people, and each person makes $.50 to $1 an hour less than I do. I definitely want everyone to be paid fairly, so it's not about wanting to be superior or anything, but I have a lot more responsibility than they do which should come with higher pay. Right? When I ask for a raise, I'm asked to be patient. Two of my subordinates recently received a raise. They have been with the company approximately 6 months. I've received 1 raise ($1 an hour) in the past 2 years (at the 1 year mark). Am I being used? Is this a dead end job? Should I believe the "when the company does better, you'll make more money" line I keep getting? The company is profitable.
