Not sure this is the right place to post, but my initial thoughts took e down the financial route...
That is the last 4 year average...and on track for 107 days home on 2017. During the 250 the company pays for Hotel, car, food, etc.
For clarification I go on projects for several months, then off for about 3-4 weeks. repeat.
The past two years I have rented a house (needed this for daughter) at 1250/month with utilities totals close to 19K for the year.
I am trying to downsize to a place that is 750/month and less utilities. My daughter is 20 this summer, and has a college apartment....so the obligation to maintain a household does not exist after 9/17.
I have considered many options here as I downsize, including putting my stuff in storage for the next several years, and put that 19K into traveling for the 110 days off. I guess I am having hesitance not having a "place".
Some of the concerns are not having a legal address for banking (can use my daughters apartment).
It might get expensive if I cannot find cheap housing.
I no longer can entertain, or have family dinners..
I will never find a girlfriend/lover without a home.
Background: I am 50, single, make 200K, do not own a car, live in Tucson, AZ but could live anywhere in the US, Still paying alimony 40K/yr till 12/17, college for kids @15K/year till 2020.
Question: Has anyone put their stuff in storage and lived like a gypsy? How did that work for you? Positives? Negatives?
What do you think about not having a home? While I believe I can more than make it on 19K a year for 100 days of housing...I am more concerned about not being able to answer "where do you live?"
