My sump pump emergency backup power is provided by two marine batteries. I want to avoid being "that guy" who failed to check his backup batteries and lost his carpet when the storm knocks out power and floods the basement. System is six years old. Can anyone point me a proper maintenance routine? Should I just check the voltage levels for the batteries? Do I just replace the batteries every x years? I've searched online but I don't see this topic covered anywhere. Hoping there are folks here familiar with sump pump maintenance. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2rTF9k9
