Hey so my friend pays me $400/month to live in my 3/2 house. He's an ideal tenant/friend and we don't have any sort of documents agreeing to this, however he has always paid on time and has been respectful in terms of appreciating the home. He essentially has free reign of half the house. He is going away for 2 weeks on a military training and he asked if he could just pay half the rent this coming month.
I couldn't find a precedent for this anywhere online and it's not like if I go on vacation I would only have to pay half the mortgage, but I'm looking for feedback because I can honestly see his point of view.
