Hey all,

Just wanted to vent about my foolish mistake and make others aware so they are not in the same shoes as me.

I am and was fully aware of a no-show-fee for missing your appointment at most medical professionals, but this was a reschedule for an appointment 6 weeks ago. I foolishly didn't put it in my calendar, received a phone call reminder on the Sunday before the appointment on Wednesday which reminded me that I needed to cancel my appointment because I would be out of town.

I forgot to cancel, just remembered about it this morning, now my account was charged $25 for no reason and no one's fault but my own. I called and apologized for my lack on professional courtesy and asked to have it waived as a one-time courtesy. The billing team send the request to the doctor's team and I am currently waiting on a decision.

This $25 (if they don't waive it) could have been VERY easily avoided by me being a little more organized, by being more attentive, or just cancelling the appointment online (I think I had that option) when I got the voicemail on Sunday.

I jump through so many different hoops to save money here, get cash back rewards from my credit card there, meet monthly requirements to maximize my interest in deposit accounts, and in the event I ever don't make the most frugal decision on something, I most always get some form of service, product, or experience from the money spent. If they don't waive the $25 fee, I basically just cancelled out all my efforts to maximize my interest, cash back from credit cards from the month.

Cheap mistake to learn a lesson from for me. Hope I can help just one person learn this lesson at my expense. I feel so dumb, literally just took a $20 and $5 bill out of my pocket and lit it on fire, lol.
