I've done long road trips in my car without hesitating before as I much prefer driving over flying. While my car is fairly decent for fuel effeciency (35 mpg) it has certainly hit me with a lot of mileage all at once. So I'm wondering is there a break even point for renting over driving your own car for long trips and if so what your recommendation is. For the record I drive a 2012 Ford Focus with 90k miles and it is fully paid off. I bought it new, and yeah, already put a lot of miles on her over the last five years.
