Hello r/DIY, I have a ~7 year old deck in decent shape, however the original stain coating is failing. The deck has been preserved (overtop the old stain) yearly for the past 3 years with an oil based stain. Some minor weathering in a few areas exist - splinters are not common but I have a feeling they will be soon. I have two little ones, so I'm looking to put a solid color or semi-solid color to help with this issue. I also hope to lay this down and not worry about it for a few years.I've been trying to do some research but there's a lot of conflicting info out there. A lot of the manufacturers seem to "self-review" their stains online. BEHR, for example, has a lot of glowing reviews on their site, but the same is not true in other areas I find where people claim their product is absolute garbage. Other "review" sites seem to be in suspicious unison in promoting one or two brands. So DIY, what's the best solid / semi-solid deck stain out there? via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2pZDdXG
