Just last week I just got engaged and found out my fiancee has some medical debt from a Dentist. She went in to get 3 Molars pulled out and found out the Dentist took out as well a "Benign Tumor" while she was under anesthesia. She had no idea he did anything else other then taking out the 3 teeth. A few weeks later she got bills in the mail, she call the Dentists office and they said that they did this and she needs to pay up. She called her insurance company and they had no answers for her they told her to take it up with the Dentist. So she freaked out and just ended up setting up a payment plan.
Is this debt rightfully owed ? Who can I speak to, to fight this ? Is there any issues going forward with trying to fight it since she set up a payment plan ? We both live in NY
