I have always been a high achiever in my life. Currently in college, I once told one of my professors that I want to volunteer in developing countries after graduation. She opposed my idea, saying that I should fulfill my potential and work my ass off to get into places like the UN in my 20s because she wholeheartedly believes I can. Then she told me that everyone can be a volunteer, and me spending my time on something everyone can do is simply "unambitious". What should I do?
