I have got close to 60k through a family estate and thinking of putting it to some kind of investment. I don't have much knowledge in stock markets and have checked this sub and found some solid advice. My reasearxh so far led me to decide to stick to index fund. Next part I am deciding a portfolio. So far I am thinking of putting close to 50% US index and 30% Canadian (I am Canadian) and 20% international index. Next part is I want to find which index fund I want to pick. So far I have found S&P500 VTI for US index and CPD for Canadian.

Does my portfolio look too aggressive or should I leave some buffer filling with bond? I dont plan to do anything with this money for next 5 years at least or may be even longer.

Do I need to diversify more? And within each category do I diversify the kind of funds? Any other index other than VTI I could look into more?

Finally does it matter if I put all my money now( market is pretty high right now) or should I hope for a correction later this year and hold on the cash?
