From the very beginning of the call I knew it was fishy. I haven't applied for any grants and they mentioned part of the reason I was selected was for being a good citizen. Both the people I talked to had foreign accents so I doubt they are in the US. They were also using google voice numbers. I didn't give them any info but they knew my name, address and telephone number. I played along with them like I believed what they were saying but told them I don't have the 200$ to pay the fee and I would call back when I got the money. I wrote down most of what they told me and the numbers that they called from and gave me to claim my "grant" money. Where/how do I report this? I'm broke and would love to believe there was money coming to me but I know there isn't and if it sounds to good to be true it's probably not true. I would love to keep anyone else from falling for this. If they are outside the US I know it would be hard to shut them down but since I left it open to call back when I got the 200 dollars I would be willing to call back to help any investigation. I really don't know how far it's taken when reported and am hesitant to call my local police because I doubt it would help. If anyone has any info on what I should do I would be very grateful. Thanks in advance!
