About half a year ago my girlfriend was going to move into a condo her aunt owned. She signed a lease and signed up through the power company to get service. She ended up never moving in, and cancelling the service a couple weeks later.
She recently received an open collections notice from the power company for about $150 for the time she never lived there, but the service was registered to her. Her aunt had never forwarded the mail notices from the power company to her (another whole post).
Additionally, she received a notification from Mint that her credit took a hit. I told her to check her credit report and we are considering options. What if any, options do we have to work it out to restore her credit. If she can't, what are the ramifications of it?
