Hey Reddit, my mother went to the hospital for a simple procedure on her hand. After the surgery, she was stuck in a room meant for the first stage of recovery. They move patients into the second stage of recovery after they wake up. After my mother woke up, a nurse told her somebody would be with her soon to move her on to a stage two room. Over an hour later, somebody finally showed up. The wait wasn't the issue, it's the fact they charged her $350 per 15 minutes she was in this first stage recovery. And the reason why it took so long is due to a lack of rooms and staff. Her insurance has her pay 20% of the total cost of the visit. How could she go about fighting this charge with the hospital that was due to the hospital's poor management?
