Hey guys, i'm real sorry if this isn't the place to post this question. If this isn't the place for it, please recommend where I can ask.
I work two jobs. My full time employment is at a community college as a simulation coordinator, so pretty much a 9-5, M-F office job. My second place of employment is as a paramedic on an ambulance, and this is a part time position, twice a week. I was injured at my full time job when i was moving some equipment. I visited the onsite medical staff, and they put in workers comp paperwork. i visited a workers comp orthopedist, who determined I had a sprain, and no surgery would be needed. He said i woudl be able to continue to perform my office duties, but he wanted me off the ambulance for a month.
So to recap, i was able to continue working at my full time wihtout missing any days. I figured my sick time would cover me at my part time employment. But, it turns out, i only have 24 hours of sick time, and I missed 64 hours worth of work. My part time employment states I can either choose to burn all my sick time, but then they aren't obligated to pay me anything else due to me being injured outside of their job.
So i guess my question is, am I shit out of luck? or can workers comp cover me on that other place of employment?
Thanks in advance
