Hi there,
I know there are some folks here who work(ed) for car rentals / dealerships, so I figured I'd ask it here.
A good friend of mine is coming to Miami for some family matters in the end of summer and plans to stay there for 3-4 months. He will need a car pretty much for the whole time he's there, so most naturally a regular car rental was the first option, but rates for such a long term are, well, not too attractive ($3-4k+ for some economy-sized car).
Are there any other options I might be missing out (except for some obvious ones like buying a used inexpensive car off the lot for the same money and then selling it at a loss in the end)? I read about lease swaps and "mini-lease" programs from Hertz/Avis (basically, long term rentals), but not yet sure what rates can be found there...
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!
P.S. If it matters, my friend used to live/work in the US for several years, has SSN, likely decent credit score etc. (if that matters at all)
