How realistic would it be for me to buy a $150k house on a $40k/year salary, only to rent it out? I would like to have this house to rent because it is in a wonderful location, is a nice house, and would have tenants wanting to live there for years to come. But I can't actually live there as unfortunately there aren't any jobs in my field in the area. Would I be stupid to buy the house to rent it out on my salary?
