My wife and I bought a car together when we were married. The auto loan (through Huntington) was the only thing that was in both of our names, and we didn't get it split/reassigned during the divorce proceedings.
She has the car, and has continued to make payments. She now wishes to trade in or sell the car, but says she cannot do so without my authorization since I'm on the loan/title, too. I am fine with her selling it.
The lender, Huntington, said there was nothing they could do to remove me from the loan, other than for her to refinance it.
Does anyone have experience with buying/selling cars in Pennsylvania (since I know the laws differ from state to state?). Can I sign the back of the title or something to authorize it for sale?
Complicating matters is that her new boyfriend is the jealous type, and doesn't want her interacting with me in-person, so I'd prefer if there was a way this could be handled remotely or by mail.
