Hi Reddit,

So I have to start paying for my health insurance now. I work for a research center and I have 3 options for coverage.

Option A: Individual Deductible: $500.00 Coinsurance Employee Pays: 30% Individual Out-of-Pocket Max (OOP Max): $4,250.00 Family Out-of-Pocket Max (OOP Max): $7,750.00 Doctor's Office Visit: $30.00 Inpatient: Member Pays 30% Outpatient: Member Pays 30% Emergency Room Visit: $150.00

Presciption Drug Coverage Copay Generic: $15 copay, Preferred: $30 copay, Non-Preferred: $45

Option B: Individual Deductible: $3,000.00 Family Deductible : $6,000.00 Coinsurance Employee Pays: 30% Individual Out-of-Pocket Max (OOP Max): $6,550.00 Doctor's Office Visit: Member Pays 30% Inpatient: Member Pays 30% Outpatient: Member Pays 30% Emergency Room Visit: Member Pays 30% Presciption Drug Coverage Copay: Generic: $15 copay, Preferred: $30 copay, Non-Preferred: $45, 30% until ded then copay applys

Option A will be 50 per paycheck. Option B is 27 per paycheck. I'm in my mid twenties, pretty healthy, don't go to the doctor often but my mind says I basically couldn't have any emergencies happening if I go with B. I make about 1100 a paycheck. Living at home with parents (also in RN school), so I have little expenses.
