Short story: Our sewer just backed up and my tool carrier (along with thousands of dollars worth of other stuff) was soaked in raw sewage. Bummer. But on the bright side I get a new tool box paid for (partly) by insurance.
I've was using an open-top large hard sided 17" canvas carrier made by Husky. It worked quite well overall but wasn't really BIFL.
I worked construction in college and I do a lot of home repair and carpentry so I need something more than the basic homeowner. I need it to hold an impact driver, drill, hammer, multiple screwdrivers and wrenches, various pliers and knives, and miscellaneous other small tools. All the tools that can reasonably be carried one handed. I have tool chests for my less used tools.
I'd like to keep my budget under $150 but can stretch that for the perfect product.
Thanks!
