I can't stand it when I hear "you get what you pay for". No you don't because pretty much everything we buy is sold/produced by monopolies, duopolies, oligopolies, cartel or companies that are using produce differentiations, signalling, playing off in-perfect information of consumers, etc, etc. Basically, if don't look for discounts, collect/use coupon for places you frequent, and refuse to accept the lies of sellers and instead do you your own research, you are a sucker and getting ripped off most of the time if not always. What is really sad, is that people complain about their salary being too low or taxes being too high, yet they pay full price for their cloths, pay full price at restaurants, give up a huge portion of their income to buy huge unnecessary cars they were brain-washed into thinking they need. Instead of complaining about tax they can't avoid (and does some good like build roads, and parks, defence etc), they're just blindly handing their money to the rich.
