Hi guys, I have this old Oktava ML51 ribbon microphone. So i've built my own ribbons previously and this mic had real shitty active electronics in it so i thought: just put a new transformer in and i will sound way better. But after soldering it in it's way to buzzy to even use. I can get sound out of it though. Here are some pics. I could very wel be my terrible soldering. Everything was really small so it was kinda hard to solder the tuchel plug. I connected the red cable to the little lip you can see on the first picture. There was also a ground wire (Also coming out of the cable on pic one) but that didn't work so the blue cable is soldered to the motor itself albeit on the bottom. Kinda hard to solder to copper/magnets. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2oLMPXT
