Ok so I'm an idiot when it comes to electrical work, so this may sound completely stupid but here it goes. My wife decided to try on her own to install a light fixture. She hooked everything up and it didn't work. But not only did it not work, but now none of those lights or switches on that circuit work.I ended up taking down the light fixture altogether after I couldn't get it to work. But now still none of those lights work. There is a total of 4 black wires, and 4 white wires coming from the ceiling. I tried connecting all black to black and white to white and nothing works. My question is is that how I'm supposed to connect the wires together when no light is in the socket? Or do I need to connect black to white?
