I have been starting to leave my laptop and smartphone in my car's trunk for a few months now, and they work wonderfully. The only problem is that I am cut out from all communication from outside world including my family (who lives outside of USA), which concerns me in case of emergency. I wouldn't mind having an emergency phone in my house, but that would mean having to pay extra $30 (t-mobile) per month that I am barely going to use.
For those who don't have any laptop or smartphone at your house, but still maintain communication, how do you do it?
