Hi! I'm a student from the US who will be attending university in Montreal next year. Thanks to a fairly generous entrance bursary from my uni, I will be paying about $16.5k to $18k USD for tuition and room and board combined. It could be even less than $16.5k as my lease is 11 months and I could try to sublet it for the three months I'm not in school. I do not have a meal plan as I am a vegan and chose a residence that did not require a meal plan. I'm hoping to keep my groceries at around $50 (~$67 cad). I'm also planning on doing work study. So here are some questions I have

  1. How do I cut down on my grocery bills?
  2. What are some good budgeting apps?
  3. How much money from work should you put aside for yourself (for partying, buying clothes, eating out etc.)?
  4. Another other miscellaneous tips for cutting costs while in uni?
