Hi,I have been enjoying the sub so far and I have a DIY project which I need so help to get the correct way of doing it.I have 3 fence posts (4"×4"×8') that fell down because one of the was rot at the bottom, I already removed the posts and any wood left over inside the concrete slabs or blobs. How can I replace the fence posts without having to dig out the concrete slabs?I already called couple contractors and either they don't show up or they quote me 1.5k-2k for the job. I guess this is a really small job for them.Ideas: 1.- Buy 4x4x8 fence post at home depot, shave bottom 2ft with a sander to make it easier to put in the hole in the concrete slab, once there if it moves use a strong tie easy mender to fill the empty space and provide more support.2.- Buy 4x4x6 post, also a strong tie which I think is for decks, it's for raised post, this has a long threaded galvanized rod which will go into the hole in existing concrete, then I would fill it with fast drying concrete where you only add water (is this the correct one to use), once it's set, on the top side of the rod it has a base where the 4x4 sits and a brace to fix the post. Please let me know any extra ideas and feel free to correct me if any of the ideas above are not safe/recommended. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2oYbci2
