A few months back, my local Aldi was advertising queen sized memory foam mattresses for $200. My husband and I had been using a full size for a year or two, and beside the fact that it was too short for us, it also gets really freaking hot in summer when you're forced to be that close.
I had been dreaming of a bigger bed for a while, and I did a little looking around and $200 is basically crazy cheap for a queen mattress, so we went for it.
I've had it for a few months now and I have to say, it is essentially just as firm as when I bought it - hasn't sunk in or anything. The bed is honestly one of the most comfortable I've ever felt, its really firm but just soft enough to comfortably lay on your side. It even keeps pretty cool on hot nights.
Since it didn't come with a box spring, I went to Ikea and got some screw on furniture legs and screwed them onto my full size box spring. The new mattress is bigger, but the way it hangs over honestly looks kinda modern/stylish.
The moral of this story is, check if your local Aldi brings this mattress back, and also, who pays $1600 for a mattress?
