Hi, I am a college freshman about to finish my first year at college. Short story: I go to a public university and all of my tuition for the next 3 years will be covered through my scholarship. I have managed to save up 11,000 dollars. But I also have 2,000 dollars in CC debt at 20%. I have only been paying the minimum balance off. I know I should pay it off but I am absolutely terrified of spending money. I have to move back home this summer and my family is awful with money. Ex.) My Dad bought my mum a diamond ring for Valentine's day and used all their savings. Now they are broke... but my mum somehow is finding the money to get botox? I am also going to Amsterdam next month which will cost around 1750 dollars. I pay my phone bill and my car insurance each month. I am just terrified of spending money because I am on my own when it comes to school. My parents do not help me at all. If I owe extra tuition... it is all on me. Advice would be much appreciated!! I am afraid of my parents asking me for money and I do not want to give them any because they are irresponsible.
