There's a tremendous amount of awesome information in this sub available for pretty much any financial situation out there. Buried in debt and want out, questions about investing, retirement, etc. That said I often see a lack of goal or even the starting point of goals for many of these posts. The majority seem to center around saving (VS getting out of debt which tends to have pretty black and white end goals).
I want to stress the importance of having a GOAL. It is really hard to answer questions like "how much should I be saving?" and "how should I invest my money" when there is no end game listed. There is a massive difference between someone who is 35 who wants to retire when they are 65 with a $50k income stream at retirement VS a 25 year old who wishes to retire early with $80k per year at retirement.
I'd really encourage any and everyone who visits this sub to give some thought to what their goals are. There is plenty of material out there around HOW to get to your goal, but it starts with your at least knowing a little about what your goal is!
If you are interested in retirement (early or not) and are looking for what may be feasible here's your starting point: http://ift.tt/XjUfbX
This can give you a feel for at least what might be feasible with your current life situation VS retirement and you can wrap a goal around this.
There's a ton of out there and a lot of helpful people in here. That said you're going to see a lot more success with recommendations if you have a goal in mind. Even if that goal is fuzzy it can be refined through discussion and reading but you have to start with something in mind!
