I am 20, already lost 1.5 years studying engineering and did not like it.. I always wanted to be an expert in trading stocks and possibly make a career out of it by being a stock broker and gaining my reputation(my dream). I was advised to pursue a business degree with finance concentration as a degree if this is what I want, but I don't like the fact that I am required to take classes(in a costly yet good university) like economics, accounting, english, math, excel and IT,operations management etc instead of going into a more direct route to reach my goal(perhaps an academy to learn stock trading, and get a degree/certificate at the end?). Neither do I know if that sort of academy exists, nor if finance is the right choice to follow given my goal career. Finally, is there any other career other than being a broker that could make me use my stock trading skills at work? I am also looking to invest personally on the side. On a sidenote, I am really unmotivated at putting myself to study at the moment because the classes don't really interest me, and I would have to wait a year to begin introductory finance classes..(where I would be more motivated since I'd be able to like and use what I learn) Thank you in advance!
