I started working from home back in December and decided I needed a really good task chair to replace the cheap one I've had for ages.
I had a Allsteel Sum for a number of years at my old job and liked it pretty well. I considered that, a couple Herman Miller chairs, as well as the Steelcase Leap and Gesture.
I found local office interior dealers and tested a few out in their showrooms. I decided I liked the Gesture the best and was setup with a demo chair for two and a half weeks.
The demo is going back on Wednesday and it's time to get a quote and place an order. I went back over to the showroom this morning to check out upholstery options.
The only thing I'm hung up on is whether I should order one with or without a headrest.
My current chair has a high back and I tend to lean back and put my feet up while watching training videos or attending conference calls or webinars.
With the Sum from my old job and the Gesture demo, I found I'd slide my bottom down and rest my head, somewhat uncomfortably, at the top edge of the seat back.
I asked the dealer about their return/exchange policy and was told that special orders don't qualify, but that they would work with me to the best of their ability to ensure my satisfaction.
What are you thoughts?
Thanks!
