I've jumped on to the Darn Tough bandwagon. I really like them, but I do have one issue. I have bigger feet and ankles (13 4E), I'm actually OK with the width of the sock but I've noticed it's tight around the ankle, specifically the top of my ankle. The problem is, the sock material (even with a "cushion" sock) is fairly thin around this part of the sock and because of the tightness it can actually hurt sometimes (think of a thin wire or cord cutting into your skin). Most of the time it's fine though.
I have contacted Darn Tough for suggestions. Originally I bought the John Henry boot sock. Andrea with Darn Tough recommended the hiker micro crew cushion (which is what I bought), along with the hiker boot sock cushion, and the hiker boot sock full cushion.
My question is, for anyone that has a full cushion (or extra cushion) and preferably a cushion sock from Darn Tough (for comparison), is there more padding at the top of the ankle on the full or extra cushion socks? Specifically where the main foot part of the sock meets the leg part, on the top part of the sock. Thanks!
On a side note, I've noticed they've added some new socks! I'm actually kind of hoping they increase their sizes as well, it would be awesome to get socks made for wider feet.
