In the article, they cite that marriage, kids, and mortgage numbers among Millennials are drastically lower compared to previous generations..... So you would assume that Millennials would have more money to enjoy life, but the problem is.... Millennials are "statistically" a lot less outgoing and tend to stay in.
Not once did the article care to mention the Elephant in the room, student loans.
Back story: I went to a Public University for 4.5 years and racked up about $75k in the debt.
I now live in rural Illinois, making 50k a year, but still can't afford all of my bills, which total about $2,100 a month, $950 of those monthly bills are student loans.
I have been promoted multiple times within my company, but I am still unable to save.... I told my boss today that I'm looking for an extra part time job, and his response was "Well get more sales and you'll be good." Being completely oblivious to the personal struggle.
Our generation doesn't choose to be hermits, most of us don't have a choice.... I literally feel like a slave to the banks.
