Need to make a decision on how to light my basement. I'm stuck because the stairwell lights and current overhead should be off when using other spaces. However, if you turn those off, you must then find your way in the dark to turn in something else. My solution is to have switches near the stairs that will turn on the primary lighting. It means putting switches from different circuits in the same gang box. Please consider the drawing and suggest a main lighting solution or validate my idea.
