My mom has been giving the landlord checks for rent, and he has been holding on to them and then cashing them at once; consequently, my mom's account gets overdrawn (because she's expecting them to be deposited as soon as the landlord receives them). So now she's stuck paying overdraft fees and now the landlord is asking her for a $35 repayment due to a bounced check. She texted him telling him to deposit the checks when he receives them, but he still hasn't done so.

Also, he never shows proof of the water bill, and simply says 'The water bill is so and so dollars this month'. My mom asks to see the water bill and it seems to be a problem for the landlord. What should she do?
