I'm completely new to investing so this might sound completely stupid.
I have about ~$30k in savings and decided today to start investing rather than just letting it sit doing nothing. I did some basic research and it seems like the stock market has been increasing quite a bit over the past few years. So my question is, since it looks like we're in a recovery/peak, should I wait a few years before investing or just get in now since the market will continue to increase anyway?
I'm planning to invest long term and although I am happy with medium risk, for my first time I think it'd be better to start off with a low risk base.
