I'm a college student, working for my school's transit department as a parking enforcement officer. On any given shift I'll walk anywhere from 6 to 10 miles, depending on what areas I'm working and how long the shift is. Currently I've got these boots for warmer weather:

And a set of Rocky's for when it gets really cold (I live in Wyoming, we hit -41F last December). They're both great boots, but the Cabelas pair tends to wear out fairly quickly with how much mileage I put on them.

I'm mostly looking for spring/summer/early fall boots, considering the Rocky ones work great for winter but they're just too heavy for when it gets warm.

Here's what I'm looking for:

-As affordable as realistically possible. I'm a firm believer in "you get what you pay for", but my budget is pretty tight and I just can't afford to drop $400 on boots. I'd like to keep the budget around $150 if possible, and I'm definitely not above hitting up thrift stores/garage sales if you kind folks can point out what brands to look for.

-Decent ankle support, considering I'm walking over all sorts of stuff all day.

-COMFORTABLE. This is the biggest one. I tried a pair of 5.11's last year and only lasted a week before I had to sell them, they were that bad after just a couple shifts.

-Durable: Like I said, not just walking over sidewalks and concrete. Construction areas, dirt, mud, rocks, sand, our campus can tear up footwear pretty quick.

I'm happy to answer any questions if it helps narrow things down. Thanks in advance!
