We have $25k in credit card debt, $20K in student loans, and an $8K car loan. We have $1500 in our savings account. Our collective net income every month is just shy of $3500 a month, over 75% of which goes to just covering our bill obligations and basic needs.
Even keeping all this in mind, she is convinced there is something that the bank would be able to do for us so that we could buy a house. I keep trying to tell her that there may be a bank out there someone where that WOULD give us a loan, but that doing so would be a very, very bad financial decision. I keep trying everything I can to convince her we need to first pay down our debts, and second save for a down payment, but she is so hostile against the idea of renting that she just wont accept what I'm trying to tell her.
Is there some simple/quick articles/youtube videos I can show her to help convince her that we really need to fix our current financial situation before getting serious about buying a house?
