TLDR - Looking for things to cover in a personal finance class beyond the basics like spending less than you make, avoiding debt, e-fund, etc.....
I've been given the opportunity to teach a series on personal finance. My thoughts at the moment are to divide the content up into three classes. In my mind, there are three things you can do with money - spend, save, give. Each of these can easily constitute a class of their own. Spending would cover things like budgeting and planning for emergencies/big ticket items. Saving would be investing (stocks, bonds, funds, etc....) and giving is self explanatory. Some topics overlap obviously and would be worth talking about under more than one category. Would there be a better way to lay this out possibly? What other topics might I be missing here?
