TurboTax is telling me I can claim my GF as a dependant because she lives with me and doesn't work. My employer considers her my "domestic partner" and she has medical insurance through my policy provided by my employer. She also has defaulted on her student loans and the irs confiscated her tax refunds when she had a job and filed her taxes. If I do claim her as a dependent, can the irs take my tax return to pay her debt? Thanks!
