So I just stumbled upon some pretty cheap set of round trip tickets from Philadelphia to Los Angeles. They're about $242, without the baggage expenses (if I were to go, I would bring only bring one backpack and one small luggage - I'm a light packer by nature). So then I looked up airbnb's (I'm planning on going with another friend, by the way) in the LA area and found some dirt cheap places that are perfect for us. For a 4 night stay, we found one that we really liked - $155.
(NOTE: THIS WOULD BE THE PRICE FOR EACH OF US): Now with the airbnb, plus the flight we're at around $400. Now I REALIZE THE PRICES ON THE FLIGHTS WILL FLUCTUATE, so for measure let's say $450. Now add in baggage estimates... $520? Like I said earlier, that's what each of us would pay.
So now let's say $520 for the airbnb, flight (incl. baggage). Transport from LAX to our place is say $15 for each of us (we're thinking of a place near the beach and close to LAX anyways, and the airbnb we found fits that desire) with maybe an uber or something.
$535. Now, let's add in additional expenses such as food and transportation... $150, because I know damn well that's how much I will spend in 4 days in California. Not sure about my friend, but this is for my case.
So $695, or $700... is this a good estimate of how much a trip to California would cost? Or should I expect way more than that? I need a brutally honest answer.
