So my apartment's rent has gone up over $150 dollars in the last couple of years and I plan to move when my lease is up in October. Right now, my income barely covers all of my bills and I have almost no opportunity for savings. I don't want to move into another apartment that will have the same problem soon, or find a roommate, so my plan right now is to buy a camper with my tax refund and fix it up to live in starting in October.

I've always kind of wanted to do this anyway, but I know there are drawbacks. I have two cats and a couple of hobbies that take up space right now, mainly record collecting. I was planning to sell most of my records to put money toward fixing up the camper. I don't know though if the cats would be ok living in it, or how campers handle heat and cold. (I'm in the south so the climate is generally pretty nice, but it gets hot in the summer and occasionally snows a little in winter). I'm sure there are other problems I'm not aware of.
