I've been a loyal amazon shopper for many years, even have the amazon credit card. I live in a rural area and it's great to get good prices on things and receive them in two days. I used to compare prices carefully using websites like froogle, etc, but after awhile I got lazy and just accepted that amazon was probably the best price.
I also used subscribe and save to get that extra 15% off. So here's the thing, after you add a subscribe and save item, Amazon can change the price and doesn't notify you! They send you an email saying your order is about to go out, and what the price is, but not that it increased and I frankly don't remember what the price originally was. I think they count on that.
So, for my February subscribe and save, I had a bunch of supplements, some skin care stuff, stuff that I can't buy locally because I'm out in the country. Well, Amazon cancelled the order because the package got damaged mid transit. I called them, and they would not resend it. I was told to either wait until next month's subscribe and save, or buy the items without the 15% discount. I was so pissed off, that I looked for alternatives and found everything I wanted at vitacost for less than the subscribe and save price, I get an ebates discount too, and still get two day shipping. I'm going to be more careful about buying from Amazon now.
