I was covered at my job from January-June, but then I was laid off. Was still good for the next month under it, so I was covered for July as well. Started the new job in August, but here's where things get odd. My dental plan started up in September, and that's when I received my insurance card. My overall healthcare plan didn't kick in until 120 days, which was December, which is also when I started having the extra cash taken out of my paycheck (was paying for the dental but it's not near as much money obviously)

So I was definitely covered from January-July, and for December. I was definitely not covered for August. September-November I only had dental coverage. All through private insurance companies through my place of work at the time. Also, if it's relevant I did collect unemployment during my 5 weeks of not working.

Will I be fined for not having health coverage? Was the gap large enough? Does having just dental (and my card) mean anything? Would being unemployed be an exemption? If I am to be fined, how much of a hit should I anticipate taking?
